expansion of knowledge and care as well as the cessation of antiquated care.  A relationship will be developed with the University to do basic science and clinical research.  NSC will also act as a center for national product research.  The will allow grants, endowments and funding outside healthcare re-imbursement.  The office of NSC research will be located at the hospital although the labs may be at the University.  Projects may include head injury nutrition, brain metabolism, neuro-oncology spectroscopy, artificial disk materials, neuromodulation (headaches strokes), and alternative medicine sound therapy.  The three main clinical sections will each be expected to publish 3 papers per year.  Each section will also participate in 3-6 clinical studies per year.  These clinical studies may be in drugs related to stroke, oncology, seizures, dementia, headache, pain relief, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders and depression.  The research coordinators will directly interact with the department chief's office.  There will be a grant/paper writer employed by the research department.  [3@.24+6@.18+2@.04=0.46]

EDUCATION
Medical student, intern and resident education will remain important.  Weekly grand rounds and daily ward rounds will be mandatory by all staff NSC physicians.  Daily Ward rounds will be made by each service.  The students will not be responsible for the care of the patients.  NSC will have bi-monthly center grand rounds in which a national speaker is invited.  This meeting will be in conjunction with the MNC business meeting.  Attendance will be mandatory for all healthcare and support staff.  A Director and two Assistants will manage the education.  [0.08A]

Public education will be conducted on a biweekly basis.  This education should be at the hospital but may also be in the community. There will also be education to large firms (back pain) and insurance companies (best model for treatments). Furthermore, there will be a quarterly publication distributed to physicians, insurances, and executives of large companies.  [1@0.04]
